Lotus & Ilnaz – A Quiet Dream Workshop

A Thousand Fresh Stories

This isn’t meant to be a specialised site with complex algorithms. This is the home of two old friends who, after years of living under their families’ roofs, finally found the courage to be themselves in a cosy little apartment. Our blog is a declaration of emotional and financial independence – not through loud slogans, but through the bittersweet experience of paying the gas bill in our own name and not flinching at the sound of a strange plumber at the door. This is the story of two women on the cusp of forty, learning to say no.

Why the domain name luyilu68.com?

At first, we just shortened each other’s names for fun, but then we realized it sounded pretty dull and totally beneath us! That is, until we decided to actually launch this site and needed something short. Luy comes from Lotus, Ilu comes from Ilnaz, and *68* is the year we were both born—the Iranian year 1368. Oh, and here’s the best part: our birth months also align with the numbers 6 and 8 in the zodiac! Our logo is crafted from these very two symbols. Everything just clicks, doesn’t it?

The Story of Our Friendship

From a Messy Notebook to an Art Gallery

Lotus and Ilnaz grew up together in the same girls’ school in Isfahan, but they were never close friends. Lotus was the quiet girl in the corner of the classroom, filling her notebook with strange, intricate flowers while the math teacher mocked her. Ilnaz was the class monitor with top grades, who felt a pang of pity for Lotus’s messy notebook and secretly thought she had no future. About five years ago, they crossed paths again at an art gallery; Ilnaz had escaped there to dodge yet another forced matchmaking session, while Lotus was unveiling her very first solo exhibition. Ilnaz was utterly mesmerized by the paintings, and Lotus realized that the strict, no-nonsense monitor was actually an incredibly sharp and perceptive audience for her art. From that moment on, their friendship began, and through a mutual exchange of skills, they eventually arrived at the cohabitation they share today.

Lotus; The Morning Earth of Order and Art

Born August 27, 1989, at 6:15 AM in Isfahan

With her Virgo sun and Earth element, Lotus represents convergence, precision, and structure. Her mind works like a funnel, taking in scattered information, filtering it, and producing a coherent, organized output. She lays out her clothes the night before, pays the bills on time, and never loses her keys. But behind this cool logic lies an artist who transforms into a marvel of focused concentration when painting or working with pottery. Lotus is the symbol of those who seem distant because of their realism, yet deep down are among the kindest and most compassionate people you’ll ever meet.

Ilnaz; The Nightly Indigo of Mystery and Secrets

Born November 1, 1989, at 9:20 PM in Isfahan

With her Scorpio sun and Water element, Ilnaz represents divergence, intuition, and depth. Her mind is radiant and multi-layered, in one minute, she’ll jump from the smell of burnt bread to a childhood memory, and then to the philosophy of life and death in a fish, only to suddenly decide to paint the wall pink-purple without owning a single paintbrush. She leaves her keys between book pages or inside the fridge, buys a coat without checking the price, and washes the dishes only to leave them in the drying rack for Lotus to bring the towels. But behind this scattered exterior is a school counselor who sits for hours listening to her students’ troubles, using her piercing gaze to help them see the hidden layers of their own lives. Ilnaz is the symbol of those labeled “unreliable,” yet carry an entire ocean of empathy within their hearts.
